Intra-articular injections indv page

Intra-articular injections aim to address the swelling and effusion of affected joints, and they are usually coupled with viscosupplementation such as hyaluronic acid (HA). This is to help enhance the durability and overall health of the affected joints.

Hyaluronic Acid: It is a component of a natural lubricant fluid found in the knee joints. This lubricant helps to reduce pain and inflammation, especially among those with osteoarthritis.

Hyaluronic acid helps to treat osteoarthritis by replacing the natural hyaluronic acid through viscosupplementation. Patients with osteoarthritis generally have lesser hyaluronic acid in the joints due to the cartilage breakdown, causing stiffness, pain, and inflammation. Hence, viscosupplementation aims to reduce these symptoms.

Viscosupplementation may be recommended if you are still experiencing symptoms despite medications or cortisone injections.
